ASEAN-India Connectivity Summit 2017

The ASEAN India Connectivity Summit (AICS) was held on 11-12 December 2017 at New Delhi on the theme “Powering Digital and Physical Linkages for Asia in the 21st Century”. The summit was attended by H.E. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation; H.E. Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications (Independent Charge); H.E. Gen. (Dr.) V.K. Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs; H.E. M.J. Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs; H.E. Preeti Saran, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs; H.E. Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Viet Nam; and H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of State, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Kingdom of Cambodia

Also participating in the Summit were policymakers, senior officials from the government, investors, industry leaders, representatives of trade associations and entrepreneurs. The two sides also agreed to set up a working group on sea transport between India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam to ensure feasibility of sea transport networks.
